Critical Care Medicine (ICU · PICU · HDU)

Three ICUs, 54 beds, intensivists on site 24x7.

Critical care is where Kainos began, and it remains the hospital's backbone: three intensive care units with 54 beds, a 1:1 nursing ratio, and critical care doctors physically present around the clock — not on call from home.

The results speak plainly. ICU survival at Kainos is 89% against a national average of 57%. Unusually for the region, family members are allowed to visit the ICU at fixed hours, because we believe seeing a loved one matters to recovery.
